Cory Mahan served in the United States Marine Corps from 2007-2015. He earned his VFW eligibility by serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and while serving with Marine Corps Embassy Security Group. In recognition of his service, he received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and other medals and ribbons.

 

Cory joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 2015 at South Gibson Post 2714 in Fort Branch, Indiana where he is a Gold Legacy Life Member. He served as Post Commander where he achieved Captain of the All-State Team and All-American Post Commander status. He served in district offices culminating as 7th District Commander.

 

On the State level he served as the State Inspector, Membership Team, By Laws Committee, State Finance Committee and is currently serving as the State Commander for the Department of Indiana. On the National Level, he has served on National By-Laws Committee, Manual of Procedure and Ritual Committee, the National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee and as National Deputy Chief of Staff and National Aide-de-Camp twice.

 

After his service to our country, he returned home to his family farm in Princeton, Indiana where he and his wife, Jennifer, currently reside.

 

Cory is a member of the Military Order of the Cootie, VFW National Home, Disabled American Veterans and The American Legion.
